Celebrating its 18th year together, bluegrass juggernaut Balsam Range is charging headlong as the group enters a new, promising chapter of its vast, ever-evolving musical career. The group: Caleb Smith (guitar, vocals), Tim Surrett (bass, dobro, vocals) Alan Bibey (mandolin, vocals) and banjoist Marc Pruett—is not only releasing new music, but once again are hitting the road, touring majestic theaters and backwoods gatherings—all in the name of bluegrass music. 2026 also brings a special guest on board to many shows across the nation, Kentucky native Don Rigsby. On fiddle and vocals, Rigsby brings that familiar “high lonesome sound” to the mix and is backed by an impressive resume, making him a seamless addition to the group. Formed in 2007 by mere happenstance, Balsam Range came together during an informal kitchen jam session in the rural depths of Western North Carolina. What started as friends gathering to pick a tune or learn a new song ultimately led to gigs being booked, this trajectory quickly taking shape of a band on the run to its dreams.

This band hailing from Siler City, North Carolina the textbook definition of a picturesque small southern town, Nu-Blu’s heart and soul is husband-and-wife duo Daniel and Carolyn Routh. Carolyn’s caramel-coated soprano is one of the band’s defining traits, at times a tender lullaby, at times a freight train headed straight for you, but always unwinding a surprising tale. Daniel is the group’s backbone, a multi-instrumentalist and backing vocalist who also handles band management. Austin Hefflefinger on banjo, guitar, and vocals, and Justin Harrison on mandolin, fiddle, and percussion round out the quartet’s warm, layered, Appalachian sound. Together they deliver upbeat, blazing-fingers pick work just as well as gentle, heartwarming ballads, and they do it all with a natural togetherness that can’t be faked, forged over hundreds of shows on the road.

Named after Chicago’s debut album, the band captures the energy, musicianship, and signature brass-driven sound that made Chicago one of the most successful rock bands of all time. With a full horn section, tight vocal harmonies, and a rhythm section that drives the music forward, Chi-Town Transit Authority delivers a concert experience that spans Chicago’s greatest hits — from the early jazz-rock fusion of the late 1960s and ’70s to the power ballads and chart-toppers of the ’80s and beyond.the Russian National Symphony Orchestra and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. Although the Quartet’s style is rooted in “straight-ahead” jazz, their concerts reveal an inherent ability to explore and play odd time signatures while naturally integrating the influences of funk, blues, and world music. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Chris began playing the trumpet as a child – influenced by the hypnotic jazz stylings of Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis. As his craft developed, he found his voice – literally. The instrumentalist evolved into a talented vocalist and began singing and playing trumpet in his live shows. After mastering both crafts, Chris decided to take his talents to the entertainment capital of the world – New York City. It wasn’t long before Chris became one of the most sought-after and lauded performers on the NYC social scene. identifies the cornerstones of repertoire, style and wonderful diversity of a new American school of string playing. Mining a huge body of repertoire that has made its impact on American music, the selected tunes and arrangements by Mr. O’Connor represent stylistic importance, pedagogical value and have timeless appeal. The program offers a broad and interconnecting collection of American music through violin/fiddle solos and duos, with additional original music by Mr. O’Connor on violin, guitar and mandolin and augmented by Americana vocal song treatments. Audiences will find themselves inspired by the songbook of America as they have never heard it before.
“An Appalachian Christmas” by Mr. O’Connor was released in 2010 to both critical and commercial success.
